Well not really, but I was filling out an entry to put in the box in the children's section at Barnes and Noble right as a woman came to remove all the entries.

She gave me a look for sure as I put my entry in, so I nervously said, "eerrr... Is it funny that adults fill these out too?" and she said "yes!" and rolled her eyes at me!

I hope she didn't take mine out, she seemed to go through them after that...

How could she have known that you weren't filling it out for someone younger than yourself? I'm guessing some children couldn't fill out their contact information, let alone the stipulation that you must be 18 to win most prizes, or have a legal guardian win for you. If I could get to a B&N right now, I'd enter, too, so don't feel too bad!

I do agree that it was a bit rude, considering you do have to be 18 to even enter!

Did she work there? If so, I would have been very annoyed!

When I entered last year (probably about 50 entries in 2 different stores), I took the entries home with me to fill out, folded them up and everything, so all I'd have to do next time was drop them into the box. It was awfully convenient, no one saw me, or said anything.

Did the contest end today? Boo, I didn't get to enter

It really doesn't matter how many entries you put in the box. The employees look over the entries every night and remove those that are multiples. They are really very strict about this. If you look at the contest requirements, it states that there is only one entry per person allowed. The entries also don't state they are for children only, but they do ask the birthday of the child you are entering for. If the entrant is under 18, than they have to get their parent's signature on the entry form.

It also says "Signature of parent or legal guardian is required if entrant is under 18 years of age. Which tells me that adults can enter, which I have.

I think that the contest ends at different times for different stores. I read the back of the entry form, and it states that all drawings will end by 12/31/05 and the winners will be announced no later than 1/16/05, or something like that. The drawing at our local B&N goes until 10/31/05, but I'm not sure exactly when they will announce the winners. I'm sure many stores are waiting longer to end it.

Well, I didn't see her taking mine out, just looking through them and it made me suspicious. She was definitely rude though! I just felt sort of silly about the whole thing. I think she acted like the dolls should be just for children and that I was being silly and thoughtless to fill out a form for myself.

Does it say one entry per person for sure? I didn't see that on the form, but I don't know.

The thing is legally they can't look through the names and pull any out.
